Funding Programs Update - December 2019

Updated: Jan 7, 2022

SHRF’s strategic refresh of our funding programs is underway. After initial conversations with our varied stakeholders and guidance from our Board of Directors, SHRF will be using the 2020-21 year to transition from our existing suite of programs to offering new and pilot programs.

SHRF will continue to offer opportunities that will support early career researchers and trainees; foster knowledge sharing; and support research to address health needs in our province. We remain committed to strengthening research capacity and competitiveness; increasing investment in research and innovation; and aligning research with stakeholder needs, while striving for operational excellence.

How we accomplish these goals through research funding programs is still taking shape and we want to hear from you! As one of our stakeholder groups, we want to hear from the research community. Share your input with SHRF about how we can better align our programs to meet the needs of our provincial health research ecosystem.

You can share your input with SHRF by joining our Director of Funding Programs, Karen Tilsley, at upcoming Listening Sessions in both Regina and Saskatoon. Karen will be in Regina December 10th and the morning of December 11th and in Saskatoon the following week. Full session details will be confirmed soon. You can find out more on our events page at shrf.ca/events.

These informal, come and go sessions will allow us to directly engage with our researcher stakeholders. Bring your ideas and meaningful feedback that can help inform SHRF’s research funding programs going forward. We want to understand the research community’s needs and existing resources so that we can position SHRF’s funding programs to have the greatest impact in supporting research that matters to Saskatchewan.
